Improving Rural Livelihoods Through Sustainable Environment and Inclusive Development
Friends of Rural Growth (FORG), Ghana, is a non-governmental, non-profit organization formally established in 2016 after operating informally since 2014. The organization was founded by a group of like-minded professionals from northern Ghana with backgrounds in agriculture, environmental science, social science, community development, and financial management.
FORG operates primarily in rural communities across Ghana, with a strong presence in the Upper West Region. Our work responds directly to the realities of poverty, environmental degradation, climate vulnerability, and limited livelihood opportunities in rural areas.

This project promoted dry season vegetable production as a climate adaptation and livelihood diversification strategy to reduce dependence on rain-fed agriculture.
This project addresses climate vulnerability and livelihood insecurity in northern Ghana by promoting dry season gardening and improved water resource management in climate-stressed rural communities.
