This project addresses climate vulnerability and livelihood insecurity in northern Ghana by promoting dry season gardening and improved water resource management in climate-stressed rural communities.
Key Achievements
- Establishment of community-managed dry season gardening schemes
- Provision of irrigation infrastructure to support off-season vegetable production
- Construction and fencing of gardening sites to reduce crop damage and farmer–herder conflicts
- Training of beneficiaries in vegetable nursery establishment and agronomic practices
- Formation and strengthening of garden management committees
- Improved household food security and income, particularly among women
